Lucton Bonfire & Halloween Night2023-11-08

The second Lucton Bonfire & Halloween Night was held on 27th October! Halloween costume, fashion show, Instax photography, fair stalls, potluck dinner, student performances... Students, parents and all staff gathered at the most spooktacular and fun-filled Halloween party of the year.



In preparation for Bonfire & Halloween Night, students started to decorate their dormitory environment a week in advance. With the guidance of the boarding staff, they worked together to decorate the inside and outside of the dormitory using creative handicrafts or online purchased items such as decals, wall hangings, ornaments, etc.





Teachers, students and parents dressed up as their favourite characters, such as the electric guitarist from Gryffindor, the member of the Mobile Task Forces, the magical fairies, the Captain Jack, the handsome man in black, etc. They also performed on the fashion show in different styles. Their confident and generous performance was loved by the audience and won them cheers.



The fair stalls opened after the fashion show. The market was filled with an array of goods and handmade crafts prepared by parents. In addition, there was a face painting stall set up by teachers to help "customers" transform into the coolest ghosts with make-up.



The potluck dinner is a tradition in Lucton, where each family brings a speciality dish to share with each other. There were local specialties, seafood feasts, cold dishes, fruit and snacks including grilled fish, seared prawns, Orleans roasted wings, Indian masala crispy balls, fried dumplings, fruit platters... The tables were filled with colourful and flavourful delicacies. Each dish contains the love of parents, conveys the warmth between home and school, and connects the bridge between parents, students and teachers.



Lucton School Chongqing also worked with Instax to carry out a special photography beauty education activity, bringing students a wonderful photography class. With the guidance of Instax education photography teachers, students learnt the basic photography theory of Polaroid cameras and skills, etc., and recorded the wonderful moments of Bonfire & Halloween Night through the lens. Students observed the world through their own perspectives and developed aesthetic skills in the process of discovery and exploration.



The performances were hosted by Iris H and Nancy G. Oscar Z, Terry Y and Tommy R sang a chorus of "Happy Halloween". Satya S, who played the electric piano solo, expressed her love for music, while Arabella Y, Yvonne Z, Valentina Z and Oscar L showed the passionate and energetic youthfulness of the Lucton students with their dance recitals.



The event came to an end in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, with all the teachers, students and parents showing expressions of happiness, excitement and satisfaction. The active participation and support of each Luctonians left an unforgettable holiday memory for everyone. Let's look forward to the next school event!
