Chinese Culture Day of Lucton2024-05-30
On 27th May, Lucton School Chongqing celebrated the Chinese Culture Day. On this day, teachers and students were dressed in a variety of traditional Chinese costumes. They experienced the profoundness of Chinese culture in a series of themed activities and had a wonderful day together.

The activity opened with a ritual of appreciation. Before starting the assembly, students lined up neatly and bowed deeply in front of their teachers to express their gratitude and respect to them. This etiquette is not only the inheritance of traditional culture, but also the promotion of the virtue of respecting teachers.

Arabella Y presented the Guzheng solo "The Orchid Pavilion Preface". Her fingertips danced on the strings, the sound was melodious and graceful, and the beautiful melody brought the audience into a poetic world. Every note seemed to tell a story from a thousand years ago.

In the artwork display session, students went up to the stage to show and explain their paintings and calligraphy works such as paintings with traditional Chinese elements. Each piece of artwork united the students' understanding and love of traditional Chinese culture, as well as demonstrated their artistic talent and creativity.

The activity then proceeded to the exciting Feihualing Competition. The first round was about poems with the words "flower" and "moon". After a fierce competition, the winning team of each group successfully advanced to the second round. The theme of the second round was poems about spring. Everyone scrambled to recite those familiar masterpieces, and the scene was filled with applause and laughter. The Feihualing not only tested the students' memory and reaction speed, but also stimulated their love for ancient poems.

In the afternoon's special CCA, students also participated in a variety of traditional cultural experiences, including spinning top, calligraphy, papercutting and fanpainting. Spinning top allowed students to experience the fun of traditional sports; the calligraphy course allowed them to feel the charm of Chinese characters; the paper cutting allowed students to create an exquisite pattern; and the fan painting allowed them to experience the charm of traditional handicrafts. The students fully experienced the fun and essence of traditional Chinese culture in practice.

The Chinese Culture Day not only allowed students and teachers to experience Chinese culture in a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere, but also enhanced their sense of pride in traditional Chinese culture. Under the guidance of Lucton School Chongqing's educational philosophy of "British tradition, Chinese heart and international minds", Lucton students will show a broader vision and a deeper cultural heritage.
