On June 26th, the audience arrived in Lucton Chongqing. There were futureLucton students, students who had just finished their high school entranceexamination, and parents who had started to learn about internationaleducation. They all looked forward to discussing with the students from theUniversity of Oxford.
The event started with Ms. Ann Pan, the Executive Governor of LuctonChongqing, first introducing the educational characteristics of Lucton andleading the audience to experience the study life of Lucton School in the UKand Shanghai through videos. She also provided parents and students abetter understanding of the history, curriculum, and teachers of LuctonChongqing and the international education philosophy implemented.
Cecilia: A-Level grades A*A*A*A* (Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistryand Physics); Received offers from the University of Manchester, UCL, IC, andOxford; Second-year student in the Department of Chemistry, University ofOxford; IELTS 8.0; First-year grades in the top 10% of the department, topfirst; Former Oriel College Student Ambassador; Oxbridge interview tutor.
The two Oxford seniors connected as scheduled and met everyone on the bigscreen. Cecilia is a sophomore from the Oriel College, Department of Chemistry,University of Oxford. She showed us Oxford's classrooms and laboratories,took us to visit the library and market on campus, and introduced us to atypical week of Oxford chemistry students, and those "Oxfordtraditions" that only appeared in rumors. For example, you must weara bachelor's robe in exams, and you must wear carnations of different colorsaccording to the date, the unique formal culture of each college. There werebursts of laughter and discussions in the audience. Only then did we discoverthat the "distant" Oxford life is so beautiful, real, and mostimportantly, accessible - it is always there waiting for those students who arewilling to make an effort for it.
Cecilia also provided sincere and detailed advice for students to apply fortop schools. She introduced the background and journey of herapplication. She also sorted out the Oxford application's timeline andeach stage's focus. Cecilia suggested that the students enter the internationaleducation system as soon as possible to adapt to the English teaching environment,provide more possibilities for university majors, and reduce the pressure ofthe application season.
Cecilia has a deep bond with Lucton. Before she was admitted to Oxford, sheattended Oxbridge Summer Camp at Lucton Shanghai. She said that Lucton'scampus environment and diverse education were truly impressive.

Mandy, a master of education at Oxford University, shared informativeadvice on Oxbridge's undergraduate application from a more macro perspective. Sheintroduced the relative advantages and disadvantages of British undergraduatestudy and an American undergraduate study, and how different students shouldmake choices. She told the students that the first prerequisite for sprintingin Oxbridge is having a major they "love." She also provided a wayfor everyone to find such passion. Finally, Mandy said that if she had met herselfin junior high school, she would have told herself: try bravely and never beafraid of making mistakes!
After the two seniors finished sharing, the excited and curious studentsstarted to ask questions about life in Oxford, the epidemic situation abroad,their doubts about their current studies, the future plan of the seniors, etc.Mandy and Cecilia answered patiently and in detail and interactedenthusiastically with the audience.
