Lucton Scholarships aims to promote education development and contribute to nurturing talents. At the same time, it is hoped that student’s passion and potential for learning can be stimulated.


Classification of Scholarships
Luctonians are at the heart of the Lucton community. Lucton Chongqing offers two types of Scholarships, which are Scholarship on Entry and Scholarship upon Graduation. The Scholarship on Entry of Lucton Chongqing is named after the four Luctonians who have made distinguished contributions to Lucton's profound development.


Scholarship on Entry


The Pierrepont Scholarship
100% off tuition and boarding for 3 years, approx. 600,000 RMB

The scholarship is named after Mr. John Pierrepont, the founder of Lucton UK. The Pierreponts was quite prestigious with the history of two Dukes of Kingston-upon-Hull. The generation of John Pierrepont's parents settled in Lucton, Herefordshire. Mr. John Pierrepont is a successful wine merchant and philanthropist who cared about people's livelihood and actively devoted himself to charitable causes. After his retirement, he returned to his hometown from London and founded the Lucton School.


The Gill and Paul Thorne Scholarship
50% off tuition for 3 years, approx. 280,000 RMB

The then Headmistress of Lucton School UK, Mrs. Gill Thorne made an important decision to establish Lucton School Overseas, and together with Mr. Paul Thorne, the then Chief Strategic Development Officer of Lucton School UK, who jointly promoted the first overseas campus of Lucton School UK, Lucton School Shanghai. The second-class scholarship is named after Mrs. Gill Thorne and Mr. Paul Thorne.


The Paddy Armstrong Scholarship
50,000 RMB off tuition fees per year for 3 years, approx. 150,000 RMB

The third-class scholarship is named after Mr. Paddy Armstrong, the Governor of Lucton School UK. Mr. Paddy Armstrong served as a GCSE and A Level tester for the British secondary education curriculum, and a senior consultant of the Boarding Schools’ Association (BSA) in the UK. Mr. Paddy Armstrong has made great contributions to the implementation of the best educational practices at Lucton School UK, leading the teacher training in Lucton Shanghai, the localisation of the teaching management system, and the establishment of the boarding system, so that more Chinese students can benefit from the excellent holistic education.

600,000 RMB if admitted to Oxford or Cambridge or US News Top 10 universities


G5 Scholarship
150,000 RMB if admitted to G5 or Other QS World Top 30 universities in the US


Excellence Scholarship
50,000 RMB if admitted to QS World Top 30 universities in other regions apart from the UK and the US
