Evan L is one of the best in Year 10 and has the potential to achieve excellence academically and in life. He is very well-mannered, diligent, focussed, and has a very quiet and charming affability about him. Not only is he a highly capable and meritorious student, he is also an excellent sportsperson and is often seen around the campus on his skateboard. Not only that, as an artist, he also seems to have a natural talent in this area! For someone so talented and an obvious all-rounder, he is very humble and is a Luctonian through and through as he practices our Lucton values in his day-to-day life.
Evan L seems to show a lot of creativity in my class. He gets very excited when he sees an opportunity to participate and show off his mathematics abilities. When he is focused, he works very diligently. He is being challenged to expand his logical thought every day. His confidence in his Mathematics is improving the more he practices it and uses it every day. At the beginning of last term, he was afraid of taking any mathematics competition, but after almost a year learning, he has a good understanding of most of the word problems he does and is willing to challenge himself in every competition and he won lots of honors in Mathematics. He applies the knowledge and method he knows well when he is solving problems. Evan L has shown that, with hard work and studying, he is capable of being an excellent student.
During the Branding and Culture Department's interview, Evan L was slightly shy at first, but he gradually opened up as interacting with us. He talked about his hobbies, future goals, and personal perspective on studying art etc.
Subject choice of Evan L is intriguing. He takes Economics, Mathematics and Computer Science, which tend to be logical and rational, while at the same time he studies Art and Design, which tends to be an emotional subject. In his opinion, art is relaxing and helps to relieve the stress in daily life. It can also record and express people’ emotions, so it is a truly fascinating subject.
As a student at Lucton School Chongqing, Evan L is a real “star athlete”, who is good at sports including football, basketball, badminton, skateboarding, etc. You name it. He was a key player of the Lucton football team at the 'St David's Day – “Discover Wales from Lucton” event, where he contributed greatly and helped win the match.
On Lucton Sports Day 2023, he was awarded the Best Overall Sportsman as he won three medals! When talking about the “collision between sports and thinking”, he said, “I like sports that require teamwork, such as basketball and football, but I've never been a captain before. I understand that although everyone's position may be different and not everyone can be a captain, their importance is the same.”
Evan L. is always humble towards others and towards his studies and life. In his future, he hopes to study in a European country such as the UK, and Lucton School Chongqing will be with him on his journey to achieve his dreams.
