In order to promote the development of Chongqing teachers' international capacity, boost the international growth of young and middle-aged talents, and create a storage of high-quality teaching resources. Lucton School Chongqing joined hands with the College of International Studies of Southwest University (SWU) to establish Teaching Internship Base for Students of SWU.
Recently, Mr. Chu Xiuwei, Vice Principal of the College of International Studies, Mr. He Wu, Head of the English Department and Ms. Wang Hong, Internship Programme Coordinator of SWU, visited Lucton School Chongqing in Tieshaping Forest Park. Led by Ms. Elaine Shi, Deputy Head – Academic, they visited Queen Anne Building, the teaching building and the boarding department. Besides, they went into the classrooms to experience a truly international class environment and communicated with Ms. Eu, the Computer Science teacher and Mr. Kintas, the Art and Design teacher and Mr. Zeng, the Housemaster.
At the seminar, Mr. Steven Yang, Chairman of Governors of Lucton School Chongqing, introduced our history, concepts and academic team, and hoped for a long-term in-depth cooperation. Mr. Chu Xiuwei also expressed his appreciation and recognition of Lucton School Chongqing, and said, "The 60% foreign teacher ratio of the academic team of Lucton School Chongqing will be very beneficial to the English improvement of the intern teachers, and they will spend a wonderful internship here."
The seminar was followed by a signing and awarding ceremony, and we look forward to more in-depth communication and academic exchanges in the future! This semester, intern teachers from the College of International Studies, School of Physical Science and Technology, School of Life Sciences and College of Economics and Management of SWU will join the academic team of Lucton School Chongqing, playing an important role in helping teaching and personalised tutoring of students. In the future, Lucton School Chongqing will deepen its cooperation with Southwest University and continue to train more outstanding teachers for the society.
