On 23rd June, 1st Anniversary Annual Gala and End-of-Term Awards Ceremony of Lucton School Chongqing was held successfully, during which students, parents, staff and friends of Lucton School Chongqing spent a memorable night together.

At the Annual Gala, Lucton School Chongqing joined hands with One-school to raise money for charity. Donors were given limited bookmarks designed by Art and Design students who are practicing one of Lucton values, Kindness. Thanks to the support of donors to the charity project, a total of 850 RMB was raised during Annual Gala, which will be used to support rural education and help needed students to successfully complete their studies.

Founded in January 2008, One-school was initiated by volunteers met in 2007. After receiving financial support, it became a professional charity team.
By 2022, One-school's projects are operating in 7 impoverished counties in southwest China as well Gansu and Ningxia. The total number of students supported is over 10,000 up-to-date.

Ezdani, Founding Head of Lucton School Chongqing, expressed her delight for the past year. The Student Internship Programme showed us the potential of students and the boarding education based on pastoral care values and actively participates in growth of each student.
Besides, Ms. Ezdani expressed her hopes for the students in the new academic year and previewed the 6 Glories awards for the 2023-2024 academic year at Lucton School Chongqing, encouraging students to develop in all aspects.

Belief and choice make us Luctonians! Mr. Steven Yang, Chairman of Governors of Lucton School Chongqing, shared that, “Teaching others is teaching yourself. The improvements of our school come from the participation of students and parents. Sand makes a tower. The developments of the school are done by every employee. When there is a will there is a way. I hope every student can achieve your dreams with your determination and efforts. Floreat Luctona!”

Sylva H, the Head Girl of Lucton School Chongqing, spoke with sincere and warm words, evoking memories. She expressed the affirmation of the past and the hope for the future, which students resonate with.
“As a brand new school year is going to begin, there will be many new students joining us. As the leader of Student Leadership Team for this school year, I welcome all of you to join us! This will be the chance for everyone to get training and improvement. It will be the unforgettable part in your resume and your life! Hope we can all join in building up our school together!”——Sylva H

Looking back, there are gains. Everyone is growing and shining.

Parents and Lucton School Chongqing work together on student development. Ms. Chen, President of FoL, wished students of Lucton School Chongqing good luck and reviewed the exciting activities of the past academic year.
“Since the Friends of Lucton committee was established last year, all of our families have been committed to establishing good communication channels between home and school and actively participated in management and education with the principle of solidarity, cooperation, trust and collaboration.
The Friends of Lucton organised a catwalk show at the Halloween Night to provide the opportunity to families to get to know each other; led an online parent psychological healing salon during the epidemic situation to resolve parent-child conflicts; and sang Christmas and New Year celebratory songs to bring all the families together online.” ——Ms. Chen

A group of parents presented an English poetry recital: IF, teaching students that life is full of numerous "what if" and how to face them. They must accept challenges, overcome difficulties, not be afraid of failure, and have the courage to start all over again after failure.
Afterwards, Daisy H and Iris H performed an instrumental ensemble, the Butterfly Lovers, which was a perfect collaboration. The comedy sketch, Vegetarian Me Apart, created by interns of the English Internship Programme made everyone laugh.

Looking back, memories including a wonderful class, a joyful interaction, a fierce competition, etc. are like a beautiful picture scroll unfolding in front of everyone.
Looking forward, “How I’ve improved? How I’ve become a better person and student?” Students gave their own answers: self-discipline, time management, self-reflection, attitude towards learning, etc. They will achieve success in their own way.
