Dear students, parents, staff and friends,
Thank you all for joining us for our first academic year at Lucton School Chongqing. Most parents and students only learned about Lucton School's plans in Chongqing in 2022. At that time, our campus was still a construction site, our teachers were still around the world, and our students' textbooks were far away in the UK. It was under these conditions that you chose Lucton. Behind your decision is a huge level of trust. On behalf of all the members of our school, I would like to express our gratitude to everyone involved in this journey with Lucton School Chongqing.
This trust inspires our daily efforts. One year later, I can proudly announce that we have worked very hard to serve every student with our heart and to promote the development of Lucton School Chongqing.
Teaching others is teaching yourself. The improvements of our school come from the participation of students and parents. In the past year, our founding students and parents have given the school many suggestions. I can recall the long lists of suggestions that we discussed in our meetings, and through this discussion, we kept getting better.

Sand makes a tower. The developments of the school are done by every employee. On behalf of the Board of Governors, please allow me to express our sincere thanks to each and every staff member for their efforts.

As the Chinese saying goes, the last leg of a journey marks the halfway point. On our way to being the best international school in the Southwest, we are just getting started. For the next academic year, Lucton School Chongqing has the following plans:
• With the new sports field and an upgraded gym, more sports will be offered;
• With the addition of Psychology, Media Studies and other course options, we to become a school with a well-balanced science and liberal arts curriculum, maintain our leading position as the school with the richest course options in Chongqing, and actively increase the gap with other competitor schools;
• Continue to practice holistic education and substantially increase CCA options. We will offer 23 CCA programmes next year, including the Programming and Design CCA through collaboration with team led by Professor Liu, Head of the Industrial Design Department, College of Arts, Chongqing University;

• Deepen the cooperation with Southwest University, one of the six normal universities directly under the Ministry of Education, actively establish the joint bilingual teacher training programme with Southwest University, promote the development of bilingual teachers in the industry, and continuously develop excellent teachers for Lucton School;
• Invent and implement the tutoring mechanism, strengthen the capability of additional individual support;
• Acquire additional staff for the University Guidance department in order to establish the best University Guidance service in the Southwest;
• Work with professors from Oxford and Cambridge, establish capabilities around Oxbridge test and interview preparation. Help students gain Oxbridge offers within 3 years.

When there is a will there is a way. Today, I share this proverb to our students. In the years to come, your determination and efforts will help you realise your dreams. You will make Lucton proud!
