The former Soviet educator Sukhomlinsky once compared school and family to two "educators", stating that the two should "not only act in unison making the same demands on children, but also share the same ideas and beliefs".

At Lucton School Chongqing, parents become members of the Friends of Lucton (FoL) once their child is accepted into the school. Schools and families should actively engage in effective communication. As a bridge between the school and families, the Friends of Lucton Committee (FoL Committee) can facilitate the transmission and integration of information. In order to solidify the bridge, Lucton School Chongqing held a meeting of the new FoL Committee on 2nd December.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Ann Pan warmly welcomed the members of the FoL Committee and introduced the purpose and significance of the establishment of the FoL Committee. The FoL Committee meet regularly to gather their strengths to contribute to the flourishing of the Lucton community, which is the driving force behind many of the campus' annual highlights, as well as an integral part of campus life.
Ms. Ann Pan presented the letters of appointment to all the members of the FoL Committee. The letter of appointment carries new expectations and implies more responsibilities. What they received was not only a letter of appointment, but also responsibilities, trust and expectations.

Ms. Chen Ling, Chairman of the FoL Committee, spoke at the meeting and acknowledged the work of the school. She expressed her expectations for home-school co-operation in running a good education. She also said that the FoL Committee will fully support the school's work and become a solid backing for the school's steady development.

The FoL Committee members come from different grades and positions, and have different personalities. However, they have a common characteristic, which is the love for education and the care for children. The FoL Committee members are also assigned to houses, and competition between the houses in future events will enable everyone to work towards the same goal, learn from each other, and collaborate with each other.

Ms. Ann Pan also discussed the duties of the FoL Committee at the meeting. The FoL Committee will continue to support educational activities such as parent salons, weekend boarding activities, and summer and winter student internships, helping students to engage with experts and resources in a variety of professional fields and inspiring their career aspirations. The FoL Committee and the school will work together to create school activities, enrich the culture of the Lucton community, and enhance students' participation in campus life. In addition, the FoL Committee meets regularly to give feedback to the school and provide advice and suggestions for the development of the school in all aspects. 

In the future, the FoL Committee of Lucton School Chongqing is committed to supporting and facilitating the development of the school, students and parents, and to promoting the Lucton values. Members play their part in their respective positions to enhance the overall vitality of the community and spend a great journey together.
