Focusing on the Global Competence of Teenagers2023-12-01

The 2nd IEACAE, International Education Annual Conference and Achievement Exhibition of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle was held in Chongqing. Lucton School Chongqing participated in this educational event.



With the theme of “Focus on the Global Competence of Teenagers for A New Era”, IEACAE not only invited well-known international education experts to give speeches on the new changes and trends of China's international education, but also conducted a series of activities, including roundtable salons, keynote speeches, and results demonstrations, which attracted more than 2,000 families to participate in the IEACAE, and more than 100,000 people to participate in the IEACAE online. The IEACAE built an open and diversified platform for academic exchanges in international education.



As an important platform to promote the building of a community of shared future of mankind, the "Belt and Road" builds a bridge for the development of international education in China, and also brings opportunities and challenges. “New Trends in International Education in the Context of 'Belt and Road'” was the main topic of the Roundtable Salon of this IEACAE. Mr. Steven Yang, Chairman of Governors of Lucton School Chongqing, participated in the Roundtable Salon and shared his insights with other guests.



Mr. Steven Yang mentioned that, as a compulsory subject in Lucton School Chongqing, Chinese can shape students' identification and understanding of Chinese culture, and cultivate Chinese competence which is important but often overlooked, so that they can become excellent global citizens with overseas adaptability and competitiveness in employment.
He also emphasised that firming up schools’ characteristics can help schools to cope with new opportunities and challenges. Lucton School Chongqing is characterised by a proactive discovery education, providing an international curriculum rooted from the UK that proactively identifies students' potential and stimulates their interest in learning. In the keynote speech session, Mr. Steven Yang gave a speech on the topic of "What does education with 300 years of history tell us”. Firstly, as a school with a history of 315 years, Lucton has the accreditation of the world's leading education institutions, outstanding Luctonians, and a unique philosophy of “British tradition, Chinese heart and international minds”.



Lucton School Shanghai, as the first overseas branch of Lucton School UK, officially opened in September 2018, and now has three classes of students who have achieved excellent admissions results. 100% of the three classes of graduates from 2021-2023 received offers of the world’s top 100 universities, and 86% of 2023 graduates entered the world’s top 50 universities.
