On August 23, the annual Smart China Expo opened grandly in Chongqing International Expo Centre as scheduled. Mr. Yongwu Zhang, Director of Chongqing Foreign Affairs Office, and Mr. John Edwards (Qiaowen Wu), HM Trade Commissioner and Mr. Stephen Ellison (Yunsen Shi), the British Consul General in Chongqing attended the exhibition site and participated in the ribbon-cutting event of the opening ceremony of the British National Pavilion at the Smart China Expo as guests. 

Lucton Chongqing was also invited to participate in the Smart China Expo and witnessed the opening ceremony of the British National Pavilion.

After the opening ceremony of the British National Pavilion at the Smart China Expo, Mr. Xi Yang, the Director of Lucton Chongqing, communicated with Mr. John Edwards and Mr. Stephen Ellison on the spot, and discussed Lucton’s development plan in Chongqing.

At 14:00, the related summit forum of the Smart China Expo was held in Chongqing Niccolo Hotel. Mr. Kehua Lu, Deputy Mayor of Chongqing Municipal Government, and Mr. Shixiang Tao, Deputy Secretary and Chief of the Jiangbei District Committee in Chongqing, and Mr. John Edwards, HM Trade Commissioner, delivered speeches one after another, further promoted the friendly exchanges between the UK and the Chongqing area.
