Coinciding with the annual Chongqing City Feast Smart China Expo, Mr. Steven Yang, Chairman of Lucton Chongqing, is a Member of the Corporate Delegation. He reported the project of Lucton Chongqing to Mr. Jinshan Chen, Deputy Mayor of Chongqing Municipal Government on the afternoon of 24 August:

"Greetings to respectful Deputy Mayor Chen and all leaders. I am Steven Yang, a representative of Lucton School UK with 300 years of history. Lucton School UK and Chinese educators have established a first-class international high school together in China, adhering to our ethos of Chinese heart and combining the world’s leading education methods to cultivate world-class talents for China. In 2018, we founded Lucton School Shanghai, and we are honoured to be inaugurated by Mr. John Edwards, British Consul-General Shanghai at the time. We are currently cooperating with China Metallurgical Group to implement the world’s leading education services in Tieshanping."

After the report, Lucton Education and British Council (IELTS test organisation) signed a cooperation agreement at the Westin Chongqing. Representatives of both parties attending the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement were: Ms. Mabel Li, Director of Examinations, Southwest China, British Council, and Mr. Steven Yang, Chairman of Lucton Chongqing.

The signing ceremony was witnessed together by Mr. John Edwards, HM Trade Commissioner, and Mr. Stephen Ellison, British Consul-General Chongqing, and Mr. Gang Zhao, Party Member of Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Committee, and Mr. Tony Clemson, Deputy Director, Innovation & Industry at DIT China. Ms. Mabel Li spoke highly of Lucton Education’s advanced educational concepts and teaching methods.

Lucton Education officially adopts the Aptis at Lucton Chongqing as its English language proficiency test for application. Aptis supports the provision of a full dual-scaled intelligent assessment for each candidate within 48 hours, including quantitative scores for each language skill module (0-50) and CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) levels (A1-C). This helps Lucton Education to scientifically and effectively assess the English language skills of applicants and familiarise students with globally accepted English language assessment standards in advance.
