In this late autumn, the teaching work of Lucton School Chongqing has been carried out for half a term. No pains, no gains. With the joint efforts of all the teachers and students, the first midterm assessment week of this academic year was successfully held in the first half of November.
Midterm Assessment Week
In the examination rooms, students concentrated, thought deeply, answered the questions carefully, and treated each exam seriously. The invigilators of each examination room conscientiously perform the duty of invigilation, strictly regulates the discipline, and ensures the quiet, orderly, fair and just environment.
Feedback and Reports
Teachers finished marking all the papers after the assessment week, recorded the students' results in the system and commented on the key points and difficulties of the midterm papers. With their own efforts, many Lucton students achieved excellent results and made extraordinary progress in the midterm exams.
The midterm exam is a test of teachers' teaching results and students' learning results since half a term. The analysis of the exam results is not only conducive to students to find out their own learning deficiencies, check and making up for the shortcomings, and reasonably formulate the next stage of learning plans and goals, but also allows the academic team of Lucton School Chongqing to understand the learning performance of each student, adjust the teaching methods, help and guide students to find a suitable solution for their own enhancement, and optimise it continuously.
Parent Teacher Conference
The growth and progress of students not only need teachers' diligent teaching and parents' care, but also need the joint efforts and co-operation between parents and the school, which is the result of trust and communication between parents and teachers. In order to enhance the contact between home and school, create a harmonious educational atmosphere, and build a bridge for home-school co-education, Lucton School Chongqing held a PTC, Parent Teacher Conference, which allows parents and teachers to have face-to-face communication.
At the PTC, teachers listened carefully to parents and actively answered their questions. Based on the characteristics of the subjects and students’ learning status, classroom performance and homework quality, the teachers summarised the students' progress and the areas for improvement, and shared some practical learning methods and skills. This kind of open dialogue not only deepens the communication between parents and teachers, but also makes parents clearer about their children's learning goals and future development direction.
Every exam is a check and a summary of learning. Although the midterm exams have come to an end, it is a new starting point. Lucton School Chongqing will continue to work with the Friends of Lucton to maintain close co-operation and create a good learning environment for the growth and development of the students.
