News | Lucton School Chongqing Student Leadership Team was Officially Established2022-12-06


Student Leadership Team, SLT, at Lucton School Chongqing was selected through a combination of volunteering and staff recommendation. They are students who are charismatic and show great willingness to help others in areas of expertise and areas they wish to develop in. Student leaders get multiple opportunities to plan, lead, inspire, speak publicly, learn and grow.



We are very proud to introduce our SLT positions and title holders.



The Head Girl and Head Boy are the student body’s voices and they have a responsibility to represent all students. They act as the collective Student Voice and must gather public opinion on existing processes of the school in order to improve them. They can collect feedback on a variety of issues relating to all parts of student life- academic and pastoral. The Head Boy and Head Girl were chosen because of their all-round performance and their ability to lead the students in the school. They will act as role models in academic achievements and personal behaviour. For this reason, they are also responsible for the Peer Education Program, PEP*, which is the homework program led by high-achieving students helping each other in a variety of subjects.


*PEP, Peer Education Programme, was initiated by Cindy Xiao, graduate of Class of 2021 at Lucton School Shanghai. Cindy is currently studying Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry at Imperial College London



The four House Captains are representatives of each of their Houses. They will manage all House events and competitions throughout the year and liaise between the staff and students. Their main responsibility is to lead and inspire their Houses to participate well, to contribute willingly, to try their best to achieve victory, and ultimately, win the House of the Year. In addition, one further concern to state as Captain is to offer the support and beneficial perception  to students of their houses, making great academic and schooling domestic progress. Finally,

favourable assistance is the accountability of Captain to new students on their part, which definitely guarantees that newcomers can integrate into school quickly.


The Art Coordinator is a skilled artist whose responsibility is to beautify school events and communal spaces. The Art Coordinator will plan and design publicity materials on behalf of the SLT to advertise activities and events to attract participation. The Art Coordinator will also work on a variety of social awareness topics to educate the school community on important matters for the youth in both classrooms and public spaces.



The Charity Coordinator is responsible for increasing the social spirit of the school community by organising a variety of charity events to raise awareness, useful, and funds for charitable organisations. The Charity Coordinator will also work with local charities to create volunteering opportunities during holidays/weekends for the students to give back to society and help those in need.



The IT Coordinator will be the student representative at all school events, including weekly assemblies, to manage all IT demands, to troubleshoot, to plan and prepare the smooth delivery of presentations and performances from a technical perspective. They will also plan all surveys and be responsible for the SLT website design and management. The IT Coordinator will always be on standby to ensure the student and staff body can count on their support for all matters of a technical nature.





These representatives will act as liaisons between the SLT and their year groups to share information and communicate effectively to amplify the collective student voice and share great ideas. They will be responsible for monitoring their groups to ensure targets are met, that everyone participates in action plans and that the output and contributions are of high-quality.



We recognise that successful leaders are driven by a desire to be of service to others and to nurture, guide, develop, and help them to improve and succeed.The Lucton Student Leadership Team has always been a leader role for the students, a strong bridge between the school and the students, with the embodiment of Lucton spirits.
