Inheriting 315 Years of Education Excellence of Lucton School UK
Lucton School Chongqing
Lucton School, founded in 1708, is an independent school with a proud heritage of over 310 years of elite education in Herefordshire, UK. Three centuries later, Lucton celebrated its tercentenary and hosted a visit from Prince Edward. In 2018, Lucton School Shanghai officially opened. In 2022, Lucton School Chongqing officially opened. Mr. Steven Yang went to the UK at the age of 14 to pursue his education, becoming the first student from mainland China to attend Lucton School. He later graduated from University College London, where he read Statistics, Economics and Finance. Mr. Yang has since devoted himself to advancing high-quality British education in China. He introduced Lucton School—a distinguished independent boarding school with over 300 years of history—into China, marking the beginning of his work in international education. In 2022, Lucton International School Chongqing was formally established, with Mr. Yang serving as Chairman of Governors. Since 2025, he has taken on the role of Head of School, with overall responsibility for the School’s strategic development and educational provision, continuing to advance the principles of a British holistic education in China. He is supported by Roy Donnan, who serves as Deputy Head-Academic, working collaboratively to advance curriculum development and uphold the highest standards of teaching and learning within the British educational framework.
