As a new term begins, there comes a new column, Creative Work Collection of Students, on the WeChat official account of Lucton School Chongqing. This new column will collect creative writing pieces and artwork of students in Lucton School Chongqing, and will share them with readers on online platforms such as WeChat official account and our official website etc., so that students′ original work can “walk” out of the campus and into online platforms, through which such creative and inspiring works will be supported and encouraged.
Today, we want to share with you what some of the students have been doing in ESL classes with Mr. Lubojanski. The students have been learning about creative writing, especially fiction based stories like fairytales. At the end of this topic, the students had a try at writing their own fairytales and the results are very impressive! In this article, we will share one example of a fairytale written by our student, Daisy H.
For her creative writing piece, the student started by planning out her story with a storyboard. She chose to do it in a cartoon strip style because this made it simple and clear for her to map out the plot of the story. She then used this as the framework to write the full story.
At the start of the fairytale, she also wrote a character list with basic information about the characters in the story, so that she could build in their personalities, as well as their appearances. Please enjoy…
We think that you will agree that the story is very impressive and shows a good command of English, as well as a range of writing skills. It is just one example of the fantastic quality of work, produced by Luctonians, at our mountain park school.
We hope that you enjoy students’ work as much as they love to create and share it.
